Holly & Dullah’s Ceremony and Reception at Cargo Hall.
A spring wedding is always a favourite amongst couples, there is warmth, new life, and a feeling of new beginnings in the air. The October day of Holly and Abdullah’s wedding brought just that.
The South Wharf promenade comes alive with the signs of sun, illuminating the river and brightening the city skyline. Cargo Hall was set for an afternoon ceremony, with gorgeous natural light streaming through the conservatory and warming the room from the hardwood floors through the aisle.
Simple and elegant was the theme with natural florals of white, green and tints if gold. Scattered candles along the aisle and subtle floral pillars as simple framing during the vows.
Guests were then taken next door to the fantastic Tapas & Cocktail Bar, Plus 5, for drinks as the couple went for photos and Cargo Hall was transformed into the evening’s reception venue.
The reception commenced at 5.30, Cargo’s warehouse space had been set with long tables running the length of the space with classic black tablecloths, napkins and flowing foliage throughout. Bentwood tiffany chairs complimented the natural colours of as well as accented the wide timber floors and reclaimed wood wall behind the bridal table. All of which was brought together under draped festoon lights, creating a feeling of warmth and intimacy in the room.
A Halal charcuterie station allowed guests to enter and graze on a selection of dips, chargrilled vegetables, cured meats, breads and more before taking their seats for the evening.
The menu of the night consisted of contemporary canapes, roving entrée’s and shared feasting mains. Items included Tempura prawns with Wasabi mayonnaise as a canapes. A carefully constructed couscous salad with sumac, zucchini, pita and tahini dressing as a roving entrée. And slow roasted lamb shoulder paired with grain salad with coriander and mint yoghurt. Just to name a few.
The day epitomised a natural contemporary wedding. A relaxed atmosphere, in a welcoming space amongst family and friends having tasteful food based on classic elements.
