The Isabella Fraser Room is now open at the State Library Victoria – a dedicated event space in the heart of the CBD.
It’s a wish among many event planners in this town – a new, purpose built event space inside the CBD. Not since Myer relaunched Mural Hall has the inner city had a space that caters specifically for events.
Named after the Library’s first listed female staff member, the heritage gallery has been transformed into a sophisticated dining room, perfect for unique weddings, corporate events, business breakfasts and more.
Previously closed to the public, this magnificent room boasts glorious high ceilings and large windows looking over La Trobe Street for beautiful natural light. Designed to accommodate 200 seated guests, the Isabella Fraser Room is located next to the new world-class exhibition space, the Victoria Gallery, providing an opportunity to create a bespoke curator led-experience for guests.
The space is exclusively catered to by Showtime Event Group, who in July was appointed as Event Partner to the State Library Victoria.
‘This space is a great addition to our venue portfolio. We have often had clients looking for an inner city solution, which can be accessed at all times of the day’. Brad Dabbs, General Manager, Showtime Event Group.
‘Since being handed the space over last Monday, we have seen a seated workshop, theatre style presentation, exhibition, and later this week our first cocktail event. It really is the most versatile space in our portfolio.’
The Isabella Fraser Room is set for a very busy period. In October Easy Weddings will hold its industry update bringing venues and wedding planners together. On October 10th Showtime Event Group will launch the library spaces to the wedding industry, with a key media and supplier briefing. This will be followed by a public viewing of the space set as a wedding venue.
‘We want to ensure the public know that this space is accessible for a whole range of events, so we will be looking to partner with a lot of great Melbourne events, including the Comedy Festival and Melbourne Food and Wine Festival’.
