What’s your role at Showtime Event Group (SEG)?
I am currently a Wedding Coordinator based at our South Wharf office
How long have you been working for Showtime Event Group?
I have had the privilege of working for this ever-growing events company for over 5 years now. I started as a waitress, front of house and year by year I took another step in the right direction to get me to where I am today.
What aspect of running a wedding do you love the most?
Seeing my couples leaving at the end of the night with smiles from ear to ear is the most amazing feeling. All the hard work from the past year or sometimes 18 months is all worth it – that’s the moment we do it all for.
What’s your favourite SEG wedding venue?
I’m forever changing my mind, one day I love Showtime the next day I’m obsessed with Cargo Hall and now with The Ian Potter Queen’s Hall… I can’t pick just one I love them all for all different reasons.
You’re stuck on an island for 10 years with one celebrity, who and why?
This might be the hardest question I’ve ever been asked! I think I’m going to have to go with Matthew McConaughey. What else needs to be said? Alright, alright, alright.
What’s your favourite type of wedding?
I love a big traditional wedding. Being from a European background I grew up attending weddings of up to 500 guests. I always remember being in a room full of family, dancing to all the traditional songs and never wanting to leave. There’s nothing better than having everyone you love in one room celebrating a wedding. The bigger the wedding the better the wedding I say.
Your choice of SEG dish or food station?
The Showtime Event Group Antipasto station is just full of everything I love and always looks beyond impressive. I also can’t go past our pork belly entrée dish, never has it disappointed me.
What song immediately makes you head to the dance floor?
Any old school song and you will see me on the dance floor, I’ve been known to get around a bit of ABBA, Whitney Houston and Shaggy.
Your cake of choice? If not cake, what?
Vanilla, white choc, raspberry or caramel. If you put any of those flavours into a cake my eyes light up.
What new wedding trend do you love at the moment?
Neutral pallet, dusty pink and white roses, Phalaenopsis orchid everywhere on long tables, pure lush!
Any hobbies outside of weddings?
I love horse riding. Whenever I get a day off during the week you’ll find me on a trail ride up a mountain.
What’s something that SEG weddings do that others in the industry don’t?
If I get the chance to book your wedding from day one, you’ll continue to work with me right through to your wedding day. SEG provides that seamless experience of working closely with one producer to build that trusting and friendship with your couples.
Whats a memorable moment from a recent wedding you’ve run?
Recently one of my couples asked me to help them select their first dance song. Other than being very excited about this request it was a challenge to find the most perfect first dance song for them that wasn’t slow, fluffy and too romantic. On the night they played Route 94 – My Love (ft. Jess Glynne) and it was the best first dance I have ever seen.
Why wouldn’t you want to help create and be part of the biggest day of someone’s life? The feeling of walking out at the end of the wedding, seeing the smiles, the joy and knowing you just made the best day of this couples life a reality. It’s what I love and why I have the best job ever.
If a penguin walks through the office door right now wearing a sombrero. What does he say and why is he here?
I would hope he has a tray of margaritas and tacos, naturally.
