It’s been a difficult time for the events industry and at Showtime Event Group we have had to make a few rapid changes and adjustments through the COVID pandemic. But we always knew that future was bright, and today we are very proud to say the future includes a new addition to our portfolio, Rippon Lea Estate.
Commencing operations from July 2020, Showtime Event Group will continue growing the already established relationship with the National Trust of Australia (Victoria). In 2018 we began operations at the Old Melbourne Gaol as exclusive caterer.
Rippon Lea Estate located in Elsternwick has had a long history as one of Melbourne’s most prestigious event spaces. The gardens and Ballroom have played host to hundreds of impressive weddings over the past five decades, and is famous for its Hollywood style swimming pool installed by socialite Louisa Jones in the 1930s.
The impressive precinct offers a multitude of spaces to activate for events, including the grounds, coach house, mansion and gatehouse. As the events industry start to adapt to the ‘new normal’ Rippon Lea Estate will allow Showtime Event Group to develop several new initiatives that appeal to the markets opening up. Including a series of experiential dining concepts targeted at the incentive market and New Zealand bubble. The expansive precinct also provides options for Showtime Event Groups approach to creative conferencing that will appeal to the domestic business events, which will grow as state borders reopen.
We’re really humbled to continue our great collaboration with the National Trust, adding Rippon Lea Estate to our portfolio. We’ve always recognised the venue as a significant landmark, and it has long been considered as one of Melbourne’s most prestigious properties. It has an impressive history of hosting exceptional events, and we feel incredibly honoured to be able to continue meeting the high expectations that have been set to date.
Rippon Lea is an exciting opportunity for us to continue facilitating events in the two sectors we love and cherish most, boutique weddings and business events, whilst also growing our private and celebrations client base. We can’t wait to start celebrating with our industry as events open up again We’ve got some exciting new packages, and interesting collaborations to base at Rippon Lea that we can’t wait to bring to market.
For the past two years we’ve been awarded the Australian Bridal Industry Academy award for Best Wedding Reception in Australia, and we believe that with an impressive property such Rippon Lea we can hang on to that title for a few years to come. It’s an iconic venue that we are very proud to celebrate.
Our strategic partnership with the Melbourne Convention Bureau has significantly opened up our reach and access to the domestic and international business events market, so we are looking forward to sharing Rippon Lea Estate, and the huge potential for unique conferencing and incentive events to activate the space.
‘Having worked with Showtime Event Group over the past two years at the Old Melbourne Gaol, we are thrilled to welcome them as the exclusive caterer at Rippon Lea Estate, enabling us to showcase Victoria’s premier heritage venues globally. We look forward to collaborating on many memorable events that pay homage to the Estate’s iconic past. We would like to thank Peter Rowland Group for their dedication to Rippon Lea Estate over the past 43 years. Simon Ambrose, CEO of the National Trust of Australia (Victoria)
