December last year saw the team at SEG flex their catering muscles with multiple events away from our main homes at South Wharf and the State Library. One of which was a great end of year dinner at one of Melbourne’s newest event venues and best kept secrets, The Timber Yard. An industrial venue the team has worked with since their launch in December of 2018 – proving to be a great new addition to the SEG family we cater and service.
A seated dinner for 400 guests in a new environment always has its challenges, yet the SEG chefs and front of house team rose to the challenge at the industrial warehouse site. Guests arrived through ‘The Yard’ onto the large astroturfed spaced greeted by drinks, crispy tempura prawns and our favourite charcoal lavosh amongst other canapes.
A perfect summer evening served as the backdrop on the grass before the hangar doors were opened for guests to come in and take their seats amongst the shipping containers and draped lights within ‘The Warehouse’
