We are beyond excited to be adding Ripponlea Estate to our venue portfolio. Expansive grounds, Hollywood style pool terrace and ballroom, and Australia’s largest fernery – so many opportunities for events.
Meet two of the Showtime team who are beyond excited to be sharing this new space in our portfolio.

"It's exciting to see this precinct sit in our portfolio because of the expansive Gardens . . . it is rare to find a sprawling estate so close to the city"
This venue really excites me. Rippon Lea Estate is the perfect wedding venue and has absolutely everything you need for your big day. As someone who loves everything about weddings, trust me when I say if you are searching for a venue this is a must-have for your list. You can host your ceremony, photos, and reception without having to leave. Forget the stress of hiring cars and moving from one location to the next while trying to coordinate your bridal party. Instead, you can soak up every last minute of your wedding day and let us take care of everything for you.
It’s exciting to see this precinct sit in our portfolio because of the expansive Gardens. Not only are they unique to our offering but also for Melbourne. It is rare to find a sprawling estate so close to the city where you can host private events. There is even a pool perfect for those summer celebrations.
I’ve spent the past 5 months touching base with over 20 couples that have already booked their wedding, and there are so many amazing weddings in the works. One of my favourites at the moment is a concept I would love to have if I was planning my wedding today. A couple is having a late afternoon ceremony followed by margaritas, Mexican food and games on the lawn. Once the sun sets they are moving to the pool deck which will be filled with fairy lights for an epic dessert bar and dancing to see out the night.
". . . the couples at Ripponlea Estate have three things in common . . . Florals, florals and more florals!"
I’ve found that the couples booking weddings at Ripponlea Estate have three things in common – Florals, florals and more florals! The 19th-century grandeur of the ballroom lends itself perfectly to beautiful lush florals. Given the nature of the space, it is highly sought after by Melbourne’s top wedding stylists, they love transforming it. However, the venue’s historic features stand out in their own right so if you are looking at keeping it simple it is the perfect setting for this also. I’d love to see a carnival-style wedding complete with Ferris wheel showcasing views across Melbourne. Our chefs would have a ball coming up with a custom menu to match. Just imagine if you were a guest at this wedding? It is one you would never forget.
A real hidden gem in the precinct that people probably don’t know about is The fernery. It is a little tucked away and probably one of the lesser-known areas. It makes for the most beautiful and intimate wedding ceremony location as well as the perfect photo backdrop.

"I’m excited to be working on concepts for a sprawling night market that lets you explore the grounds . . . with an amazing atmosphere of food and entertainment"
I’m really excited for the amount of unique events that are possible around Rippon Lea Estate. Exploring all the different spaces is great fun and I can’t wait to see them transformed as people really let themselves get creative. I’m excited to be working on concepts for a sprawling night market that lets you explore the grounds of Rippon Lea Estate with an amazing atmosphere of food and entertainment. I’m also getting creative working on bespoke options for the many individual spaces within Rippon Lea, such as the fernery and the Nursery lawn
"I’d love to see though is a helicopter arrival as we have the space to land one . . . what an unforgettable entry that would be! "
Recently I’ve found there a lot of Wedding couples from different walks of life, however most of them are drawn to Rippon Lea with similar concepts. A lot of the couples are really excited to incorporate the natural colours of the garden with their styling which is exciting for centerpiece options. Often people are really excited to work with the beautiful 1930s era Ballroom, as the historic style of the room makes any contemporary choices stand out so much more.
I am looking forward to seeing the weddings that really experiment with all the spaces available within Rippon Lea, such a ceremony on the lawn, cocktails in the fernery and then a reception in the ballroom, with plenty of different entertainment options and unique activations along the way! I think the most outrageous option I’d love to see though is a helicopter arrival. As we have the space to land a helicopter in Rippon Lea Estate, what an unforgettable entry that would be!
